Russell spent a week in the Alps snowshoeing practicing avalanche avoidance and rescue techniques as well as having some great mountain walks.
Kushi Adventures will be Adding Snowshoeing weeks into their activities for 2009 venue to be decided but votes being taken for Norway or the Alps.
We are busy preparing our kit and taking bookings for the season. For 2008 we will be increasing our kayak fleet.
14th-16th March, well will be at the Outdoor Show at the NEC with Outdoor Inverness on the Visit Scotland stand. Come and see us if you can.
Russell’s dedication to work knows no bounds and for 4 weeks in March and April he will be trekking in Nepal, probably in the shadow of Kanchengunga. He lived and met his wife in Nepal.
Russell is a Nepali speaking International Mountain Leader and he will be leading small group treks in Nepal for Kushi Adventures. Please watch this website or email here to be kept up to date. Just had a very busy 2 months. Canoeing, climbing, sailing, sea kayaking, navigation courses, drumming, hillwalking, abseiling and weaseling. For adults and young people.Clients including, Elgin, Farr, Buckie and Tyncastle High Schools. Locations including the north, east and west coasts of Scotland, as well as Lochs, inland crags and a visit to Uist in the outer Hebrides. Our activities for the SNH access week went down very well.
We have just bought some touring kayaks and will be offering kayaking this summer as well as canoeing, climbing, guided walking, navigation courses, expeditions, abseiling and weaseling. Check out our summer price list. Remember if you have already had a kushi adventure you will be eligable for an additional 10% of any course or activity.

Put in at Mains of Sluie, and took out at the bridge at the A96 and then cycled back to the top.
Descent of the River Conon. From Loch a Chroisg to Dingwall. Two canoes, three people, 6 paddles and a pole. Oh and only one trolley!
Spring seems to be here, and all at Kushi Adventures are feeling very positive for this year. Russell has just finished his IML [international mountain leader] award,
"The International Mountain Leader Award is the professional qualification for individuals who wish to lead trekking parties to all mountain areas except on glaciers, and where the techniques or equipment of alpinism are required." [from the BAIML website]. Sounds great eh!

Our diary is filling up for this year, which is great. We are currently putting the finishing touches to a couple of great canoe and walking trips. Most likely to be 22nd - 26th April, and the 27th - 31st May. Watch this space for updates. In the meantime why not check out "song of the paddle" for some inspiration..
These 5 days were spent supporting An Turus with equipment and skills. We canoed into a beautiful campsite on the west coast and spent the following days walking, talking and canoeing. An Turus were introducing the course participants to Wilderness Therapy as a concept. To find out more about their work see their website.
We were happy to enter a lot into the MFR charity auction. The buyer will be going on a river canoe trip.

Kushi Adventures is happy to be involved in the Scottish Outdoor Access Festival 28 April - 7 May 2007. Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) are coordinating the festival to celebrate enjoyment of the outdoors and to encourage the public to remember the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, which has been in effect for nearly two years.
